PeopleTec is currently seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking a motivated self-starter who is interested in joining an award-winning, employee-owned company and working with cutting edge products in the defense of the United States.   The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on projects in support of PeopleTec’s efforts in the development of the Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manual Weaponeering Software (JWS).

Our team supports the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) in its mission to provide a mechanism for inter-service efforts to improve the databases and analytical methodologies the Joint force uses to determine non-nuclear weapons effectiveness. JWS is a key component of this mission, as it is designed to support U.S. and allied military planners in selecting the most effective munitions and delivery tactics to achieve specific target effects. Its primary purpose is to provide a standardized, scientifically-based tool for weaponeering — the process of matching weapons to targets to produce a desired level of damage or effect.

The successful candidate will be an adaptable and agile software engineer who is a consummate team player capable of spearheading the design and integration of software systems in support of DoD weapon systems.  The candidate will work with the Product Manager, other developers, and engineers to define system requirements, create a compliant architecture, and integrate/develop software components.  The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess effective communication skills, and have skills and experience with a micro-service-based open systems architecture.

  • Completing and maintaining training courses as required by the contract
  • Specifying functional requirements, design computer simulations, client-server architectures, advanced networks/protocols, and databases
  • Reviewing and developing technical specifications and standards, ensuring successful integration of subsystems into a microservice-oriented architecture framework
  • Integrating and modifying software components and ensure interfaces and languages are compatible with the overall architecture
  • Planning and creating new software modules to implement future capability enhancements as well as respond to changing customer requirements
  • Designing and developing advanced networks and protocols, database management systems, and program in high order languages
