Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Training and Workforce Development Specialist to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Training and Workforce Development Specialist to support the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. This contract position plays a key role in managing RCCTO’s internal workforce training program, ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements and promoting continuous development across a diverse population of military, civilian, and contractor personnel. The ideal candidate will apply human resources experience, organizational awareness, and training lifecycle knowledge to plan, track, and report on training efforts aligned with agency objectives.

 

Duties:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and documentation of all required workforce training for government and contractor personnel within RCCTO.
  • Maintain awareness of mandatory training requirements by role (e.g., cybersecurity, ethics, acquisition) and ensure completion and compliance across the organization.
  • Maintain and update training records using approved government systems such as the Civilian Human Resource Training Application System (CHRTAS) and other authorized Army training portals.
  • Coordinate onboarding and in-processing training for new personnel and ensure alignment with organizational procedures.
  • Develop and refine internal workflows and SOPs for training administration and compliance tracking.
  • Track training completion status, generate compliance reports, and communicate deadlines to staff and leadership.
  • Support leadership with planning for individual development plans (IDPs), organizational training needs assessments, and optional development opportunities.
  • Assist with the coordination of classroom training, virtual courses, external development events, and training program evaluations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion in managing personnel training records and performance-related documentation.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in training program administration, workforce development, or HR operations within a government or defense organization.
  • Experience using Army or DoD training systems such as CHRTAS or equivalent platforms to track and manage civilian, military, and contractor training compliance.
  • Knowledge of federal training policy and workforce development best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage and report on training data accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and SharePoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a current driver's license.
  • Travel: 10%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting a Department of the Army Headquarters or equivalent military organization.
  • Working knowledge of Army civilian HR programs and training compliance tracking.
  • Experience facilitating coordination between HR, operations, and leadership to support personnel readiness.
  • Familiarity with federal personnel systems and platforms (e.g., DCPDS, ATAAPS, FASCLASS).
  • Experience supporting mixed government/contractor organizations with complex workforce structures.
