Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL and/or Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD location.

 

The Mid-Level Systems Engineer will support the US Army DOD customer Digital Engineering Environment by contributing to the design, development, and integration of complex systems. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and security requirements for U.S. Army DOD customers.

 

Duties Include:

  • Systems Design & Development: Assist in the design and development of system architectures and components. Ensure designs are aligned with system requirements and performance standards.
  • Integration & Testing: Participate in the integration of hardware and software systems. Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements. Translate these requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
  • Technical Support: Provide support for system troubleshooting and problem resolution. Assist in identifying and mitigating technical issues that arise during development and operational phases.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system designs, integration procedures, and testing results. Ensure documentation is clear and accessible to team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with systems engineers, software developers, and other technical teams to ensure cohesive system development and integration. Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance system performance and engineering practices.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure that all engineering activities comply with relevant DoD regulations and cybersecurity standards. Implement security measures to protect sensitive information.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on complex defense systems and digital engineering environments. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies, including MBSE, SysML, and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel: Less than 15 %
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience within the DoD or a similar environment is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Systems Engineering Professional, Project Management Professional) are a plus.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
